    Frequently Asked Questions

    Do bomb disposal suits work?

Yes, the impact of explosive devices is effectively reduced by bomb disposal suits. These suits are made of specialized materials that distribute and absorb explosion force. The suit's structural integrity and multi-layered design ensure increased protection for troops engaged in bomb disposal activities.

What is a bomb disposal suit also called?

A bomb disposal suit is also referred to as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) suit. It is also referred to as blast suit in some cases.

    Are bomb disposal suits bulletproof?

Bomb disposal suits provide excellent protection against explosive hazards, but they are not bulletproof by nature. Instead of projectile deflection, these suits put more emphasis on blast effect mitigation. However, for the best bulletproofing, extra body armor with ballistic protection should be worn in addition to the suit.

Can a bomb defusal suit stop bullets?

Bomb suits are built to protect the wearer from fragments and shrapnel that may be ejected from a bomb. Depending upon the level of protection selected, they may be bullet resistant as well.

Yes, bomb suits effectively provide protection to individuals. The suit's design and structural integrity are essential for keeping wearers safe during bomb disposal activities.

Why do bomb suits not have gloves?

For operational reasons, bomb suits are intentionally made without integrated gloves. Dexterity and hand maneuverability need to be maximum when diffusing bombs, which can be compromised on wearing gloves. This strategy guarantees accurate tool and component handling during delicate jobs.

How heavy is EOD bomb suit?

Based on its design and construction, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) bomb suis typically weigh between 20 and 40 Kgs. This weight takes into account the inclusion of specialized layers and parts required to offer suitable protection against explosive risks while permitting crucial mobility and functionality during operations.

Why do people wear bomb suits?
